Welcome spring....

Its been a while since i published a post but i guess as the weather gets nicer the busier i get doing other things! I wouldn't have it any other way! We just enjoyed a very nice week with neil and ashley ... One of my favorite couples!! We spent a couple days in banff enjoying the HUGE snowflakes that just kept coming down! And cant forget about the hours of shopping for baby McDougall!! Cannot wait to become an auntie for the first time!!!!!! Jayla is 4 months old today and now rolls onto her tummy!

March so far...

Thanks march for bringing us snow and more snow! Nice to get a little taste of winter just as spring is around the corner!

Jayla is surprising me everday - from her cute little giggles to her chomping on her hands!

A beautiful saturday...

I cant seem to keep myself in the house when its sooo nice out!! Such a good feeling to feel the warmth in the sun. The other day i caught Jobe feeding Jayla "wa er" with a toy fork!! It was quite the experience for Jayla as every few seconds the fork would be shoved in her mouth which caused a gagging reflex to happen followed by a "mmmmm" from Jobe! I don't know where Jobe got that from - i do not feed my kids water from kitchen utensils haha!

Finally an update!

Happy 3 months to Jayla bean!! Its so fun to watch her grow! Last night we went swimming and some man asked me what country she was from! He was very shocked when i told him that she was my very own!!

Grampa and gramma Anderson have 7 baby puppies at their house!! They are pretty stinkin cute! Its quite a thing to watch how the mom handles her little babies! It amazes me how she just knows what to do! Know one taught her how to look after her babies or even give birth! I love how nature works and how perfect it really is!

I now stalk up on cottage cheese and yogurt when i do my grocery shopping!! This seems to be Jobes new favorite foods! Breakfast, snacks, dinner, and supper- he could eat these all day long!

We are looking forward to spring.. Mud puddles and all!!

Family day weekend...

We spent the weekend in saskatchewan with my family! We enjoyed spending time at the farm and seeing grandparents in town! You can always expect to see moose all over the place! Thanks grampa and gramma for buying gallons of yogurt for jobe :)

Valentines day....

We had a fun valentines day!!! Started off the day with giving daddy the picture we painted then a special breakfast with heart toast. We made yummy sugar cookies with sprinkles to give out with our valentine cards! We ended the day by daddy taking us out for a really yummy supper!!
Its funny how the meaning of Valentines Day changes as you go through different stages of life! When i was little it was all about receiving valentine day cards then as a teenager it was all about receiving flowers and chocolates then being newly married it was all about a fancy meal with flowers. Now having children its all about making my kids and husband have a special day!

DYI laundry soap...

Im not evening going to hide the fact that im addicted to pinterest!! As my husband would say - im a "pinhead"!!
After seeing a pin on making your own laundry soap for around 20$ and lasting about a year, i had to try it!! If your anything like me, i easily do a load of laundry a day! The recipe makes i think about 44 cups and smells sooo good! If your interested in the ingredients let me know!

Our week in a nutshell...

"every day may not be good but there is something good in every day."

It seems this past week i read this little quote over and over and over again! I do believe that finding something good in everyday seems to make you feel just a little bit better! Jobe spent one day in emerg because of a fever of 43, passing out a couple times, and oxygen down 20%. After a few tests had been done, we find out jobe has asthma. Thank goodness for inhalers that help him sooo much! If anyone has any info they would like to share about asthma, i would love to hear it!

Jayla turned 2 months old on feb. 1! Cant believe how fast the months are flying by! Im still trying to get used to the fact that i have a dark haired, dark skin baby girl!

Theres nothing that makes me smile bigger then seeing my husband walk thru the door with a bouquet of flowers! I love these little gifts of love i get often!

I absolutely love watching Jobe turn into a little boy. Developing personality, learning to love, communicating what he wants and doesn't want, discovering what it means to be a big brother, creating an imagination of his own... I could go on forever! It's such a unique privilege to be able to watch children grow and learn!

Today Jobe tried to potty train his horse.. I hope Jobe found it just as difficult as it was for me to potty train him!

We are loving watching Jayla start to interact with us by smiling, looking at us and cooing!

Finally day 3...

Dont want to brag or anything buuut.... Jobe only had 4 accidents today and is loving using his potty!!! YAY!

Day 2 of potty training...

Well i do have to say that day 2 is WAY better then the first day! I need a couple sets of fingers and toes tho to count all the accidents..but thats ok! I would hate to let the washer and dryer have a day or more like an hour of rest! I cant wait to look back on these days and laugh but till then we will keep on trying!

Potty training...

So here is my update on day 1 of the 3 day potty training method! At this point its hard for me to beleive everyone when they say it works and is the easiest way to go about this! Im pretty sure i have spent 90% of the day staring at jobes rear end and the other 10% nursing jayla .... And this is only day 1! Haha but over all its a draining and exciting experience! The book stresses over and over to be positive and give lots of praise... Easier said then done! I find this to be more of a learning experience for me in that department! I think at supper time tonight it finally "clicked" in and we made it to the potty on time!!! HUGE accomplishment for day 1! I look at it like this... In order to be good at something it takes practice...so we will keep on trying!

Cookies...

I found possibly the yummiest cookie recipe ever the other day and finally got a chance to make them today!! There so good that you cant stop at one... You have to eat 2! If u want the recipe search lemon crinkle cookies on pinterest. They are really easy to make.

My goal....

My goal for this year is to not worry about the unimportant things and spend more time doing what matters!
